Stacey qualifies as a Costs Lawyer

Coventry & Warwickshire law firm Alsters Kelley solicitors is celebrating after one of its trainees qualified as a costs lawyer.

Stacey Brown, who works within the Family Care department, first joined the firm in 2008 in the accounts team before joining the Costing department in 2012.

Stacey's role is to maximise recovery of legal aid costs.  This includes drafting Legal Help Bills, High Cost Case Plans, Client and Cost Management System E-bills and Bill of Costs.  She also deals with all aspects of the assessment procedure and challenging Legal Aid Agency Decisions.

Stacey qualified as a Costs lawyer through the Association of Cost Lawyers with a Merit earlier this year.

Catherine Stephens, Associate Solicitor and Head of Family Care department said, “We are delighted that Stacey has qualified – she is a real asset to the department and the firm. On behalf of everyone at the firm, I would like to congratulate her on her success.”

Commenting on her qualification, Stacey said, “I am really thrilled to have qualified and relieved that there is no more formal studying for a while! I am looking forward to expanding and developing my knowledge and experience even more.”
